Case Management Conferences

Scheduled dates and times may change depending on the Court’s caseload. Parties must check the docket the day before the hearing to confirm the time as Case Management Conference times are often changed.

Civil Law and Motion

Hearings are held by Zoom; the parties may file a joint stipulation requesting an in-person hearing.

Chambers Copies

Chambers copies are required for Motions and Case Management Statements and must:

• Have no staples and not be in binders
• Be three-hole punched at the left margin
• Have ECF headers on each page
• Be delivered to the Clerk’s Office by noon, two days after filing

Administrative Motions to Seal

Counsel must provide with an administrative motion to seal a chamber’s copy of the unredacted version of the document(s) with proposed redactions clearly highlighted, as required by Civil L.R. 79-5(d)(2). Questions may be directed to sicrd@cand.uscourts.gov.

Closed Dates for Hearings

No matters may be scheduled on the following dates:

• September 16-18, 2026
• October 23, 2026
• November 9-13, 2026

If urgent relief is required in a case assigned or referred to Judge Illston, counsel may request a hearing before the General Duty Judge under Civil Local Rule 7-1(c) by contacting the Courtroom Clerk at sicrd@cand.uscourts.gov.
