Any person appearing in the Courtroom must be fully vaccinated and boosted.

This Schedule remains in effect until further order of the Court.

Civil Case Management Calendar: Case Management Conferences will remain on Zoom until further notice.

Civil Law and Motion Calendar: Civil Law and Motion matters will be held on Fridays, at 10 a.m. via Zoom.  If parties wish to appear in person they can file a joint Stipulation requesting in-person hearing.  

Hearing dates do not need to be reserved.  However, parties should review the dates listed below regarding closed dates for Notices.  All Motions must be noticed pursuant to Civil Local Rule 7-3 (a) and (c).  

Tentative Rulings are not provided before the hearing date.

Criminal Calendar: Criminal Law and Motion are held on Fridays at 11 a.m. Parties can request Zoom appearances for out of custody status hearings and sentencings.  Changes of Plea must be in-person.  Zoom hearings will be held before in-person hearings.  

Discovery Disputes: The Court temporarily suspends the requirement in its Standing Order that parties must meet and confer in person before filing a joint discovery dispute statement. Parties must meet and confer either via video conference or by telephone to attempt to resolve their dispute informally, and any discovery dispute filing with the Court shall specify how and when the parties met and conferred. A mere exchange of letters, e-mails, or facsimile transmissions does not satisfy the requirement to meet and confer.

CHAMBER'S COPIES: One set of courtesy copies is required for the following:  

1.  Criminal Motions (Motion, Declarations, Oppositions and Replies);

2.  Civil Motions (Motion, Declarations, Oppositions and Replies), Case Management Statements;

3.  Sentencing Documents;

4.  Case Management Statements;

5.  Pretrial Conference Filings (2 Sets Needed).

All courtesy copies must be unstapled and three-hole punched at the left margin.  Please do NOT provide binders with the courtesy copies.  All courtesy copies must bear the ECF stamp (case number, document number, date and page number) on the top of each page.  The courtesy copies must be delivered to the Clerk’s Office no later than noon two (2) days after filing of the document.  (E.g., courtesy copies due at noon on Tuesday for sentencing memos filed the Friday prior.)  For motions to seal, the parties shall refer to the specific instructions regarding courtesy copies contained in Section 9(c) of Judge Illston’s Standing Order.   Please direct any questions regarding courtesy copies to sicrd@cand.uscourts.gov.
