COURT SCHEDULE

Civil Law and Motion: Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. (in person) or 1:30 p.m. (Zoom - with prior leave of court only)

Case Management Conferences: Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom only

Criminal Law and Motion: Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. in person

Pretrial Conferences: Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m. in person

Trials: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

CIVIL LAW AND MOTION CALENDAR

Counsel need not reserve hearing dates but should check below to make sure the desired date is not blocked.  Parties may NOT schedule hearings at 1:30 PM and/or by Zoom without prior permission from the Court.

The default rule is that hearings on civil motions will be heard in person.  The Court may notify the parties in advance of the hearing that it will be heard via Zoom rather than in person.  Parties may stipulate/request to have a hearing by Zoom video, but they must do so at least one week in advance of the hearing.  The Court may deny the request if it believes an in-person hearing would be more beneficial.  The Court is disinclined to hold hearings via Zoom for complex or dispositive motions or if counsel for all parties are based locally.

Judge Lin does not generally issue tentative rulings.  

If the Court determines a hearing is not necessary, it will usually be vacated no later than two days before the hearing.

Please review this guidance on participating in a Zoom Webinar or Meeting.  For all Zoom hearings, parties are to check in with the courtroom deputy 10 minutes prior to start of hearing.

As a reminder, any recording of a court proceeding held by video or teleconference, including “screen-shots” or any other audio or visual copying of a hearing, is prohibited.

August 5 thru August 8, 2027.

All counsel are hereby given notice that such absence constitutes a certificate of unavailability pursuant to Civil L.R. 1-5(p).

If urgency requires, counsel in cases assigned to Judge Lin may request a hearing before the General Duty Judge as provided in Civil Local Rule 7-1(c).
